Victor Wade Parnell

Victor W. Parnell February 5, 1946 - October 2, 2025 Victor W. Parnell, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Mobile, AL, he lived a life defined by love for his Lord and Savior, family and country. Victor graduated from Vigor High School in 1965 and joined the United States Air Force on June 28, 1966. He retired from the Air Force, April 30, 1987 as a TSgt. E-6 (Technical Sergeant). His career involved a tour in Vietnam, Tactical Fighter Wing Mechanic, Leadership, Technical Proficiency, Mission Focus and Mentorship. Victor received numerous awards and recognition throughout his career including The Meritorious Service Medal for his effectiveness of the Command Inspection System and the capabilities and readiness of the Air Force. He was directly responsible for developing the first viable Inspector training program for First Air Force, complete with operating instructions , checklists, and training records to assist inspectors in reaching their highest proficiency. Other awards include: TAC Leadership, 31st Tactical Fighter Wing Maintenance Safety Award, and multiple Air Force Commendation Medals. For those who knew him, Vic loved his family dearly, loved getting together, and reminiscing about the past. He loved all things outdoors, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a true man of God and loved to sing. Being in the Air Force allowed him to have friends all over the globe, and for him to be a member of multiple churches throughout his life. He was the Minister of music in several churches and loved to sing praises to his Lord. Vic's legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, his deep love of family and faith, and friendships he embraced throughout the years with sincerity, warmth, and a sense of humour. He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy Herman Parnell, Sr. and Effie Allday Parnell, Sister- Elizabeth Kastorff, Brothers- Bo Parnell, Percy H. Parnell, Jr., Jeff Parnell, Randall Parnell Sr., Wife of 49 years and Mother of his children Joan C. Parnell and wife Becky Parnell. He leaves behind his children, Regina Westmoreland (Morey), Carmon Hill (Allan), David Myrick (Cheryl), Carol Carey, Nine grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and a host of loving family.
