Sharon Hayes Vaughn January 29, 1958 - January 16, 2025 Sharon Hayes Vaughn passed away on Thursday, January 16 at the age of 66. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, on January 29, 1958. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Carlton Lamar and Dorothy Louise Hayes, her husband John Vaughn, and her brother Ronald “Ronnie” Hayes. She is survived by her children Christopher “Chris” Hayes (Janice) and Jessica Vaughn, and by two brothers Larry Hayes and Robbie Hayes. She leaves behind her most treasured hearts, her grandchildren Madilynn “Madi” Hayes, Amina Louise Hayes, and Carlton Alberto Hayes. She also leaves behind nephews, nieces, in-laws, other family and friends. Sharon graduated from BC Raines High School in 1977. She was employed by Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) and retired from MAWSS after 28 years of dedicated service. Among her enjoyments was shopping and was known to hunt out good bargains from thrift stores and yard sales. Being a huge Elvis fan, she enjoyed attending Elvis tribute shows. Her favorite vacations included visiting Graceland. Sharon was always “up for a good time” with her friends and family; laughs were guaranteed to be had. Love for her children Jessica and Chris was unmeasurable, unwavering, and always a number one priority. However, during the past 10 years, one beautiful little girl, her “Madi”, took precedence over everything and everyone else; having Madi stay with her was truly the highlight of her life. Sharon, affectionately called Mimi, would want Madi (10), Amina (3) and Carlton (2) to know they were truly loved. To know Sharon was to love Sharon; she had a heart of gold. The people in her life were very important to her and she made sure they knew this. One of her many virtues was helping others and she was always just a phone call away. Sharon’s willingness to put the needs of others ahead of her own was a rare virtue. She will be remembered for her generosity, compassion, kindness, friendship, positive attitude and beautiful smile. Sharon will be greatly missed, not only by her precious family, but by her lifelong friends and former MAWSS co-workers. May she rest in peace. Services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025. Family visitation will be 10 AM to 11 AM, friends are invited to visit from 11 AM to 12 noon at Serenity Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at noon with graveside services at Serenity Memorial Gardens, 8951 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, AL 36582. Andrea Sprinkle will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Chris Hayes, Larry Hayes, Aaron Hayes, Nicholas Hayes, and Daniel Beddingfield.
