Sharon H. Fauver

Sharon H. Fauver, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Mobile, Alabama, on April 12, 2025, at the age of 78, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 25, 1946, in the Panama Canal Zone at Howard Air Force Base, Sharon experienced a life filled with travel and cultural richness, thanks to her father’s service in the United States Air Force. Throughout her childhood, Sharon developed a deep appreciation for music and dance, passions that would accompany her throughout her life. She married Jimmy Fauver on August 10, 1968, in Demopolis, Alabama. Together, they embarked on an adventurous life, traveling extensively while Jimmy served in the United States Air Force, and later during their seven-year stay in Taif, Saudi Arabia, with Northrop Aircraft Corporation. Sharon dedicated 33 years of her life to a successful career in Civil Service as an Administrator, retiring in April 2013 in Niceville, Florida. Her professional life was marked by dedication and excellence, qualities that she carried into her personal life as well. Known for her adventurous spirit, Sharon enjoyed gardening, traveling, crocheting, and cooking for her family. Her love and devotion to her family were evident in the joy she took in doting on her two grandchildren, Jaden and Britton Barefoot. She adored her dachshund, Shadow, who never strayed far from her side. Sharon’s life was a testament to her strong Christian faith, and her belief in living each day with strength and dignity, as reflected in Proverbs 31:25. She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Jimmy Fauver; her daughter, JoEtta (Blair) Barefoot; her grandchildren, Jaden and Britton Barefoot; her daughter, Patricia (Phillip) Perryman; her sister, Ramona Gallagher; her brother, Phillip Howe; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she cherished dearly. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Laura Howe, and her brother, Donald Howe. In memory of Sharon’s life and legacy, a Celebration of Life Service will be planned at a later date. Her family finds solace in the words of John 11:25-26, reflecting Sharon’s enduring faith: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” Sharon’s laughter, love, and unwavering strength have left an indelible mark on all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
