Ronnie Dale Burroughs

Ronnie Dale Burroughs, a native of Mississippi, “really was born on the 4th of July!” July 4, 1946. He went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2018. His was the last graduating class of Agricola High School, 1964. (All the county High Schools consolidated the next year as George County High School in Lucedale, MS.) He was 3rd in his class and the Class Historian. He went on to serve in the National Guard. After serving our Country, He began what became a 46 year career with Ford in the Parts Department. He worked with Treadwell for 33yrs and with Coastal for 13yrs. He enjoyed golf when he could, but bowling was his passion. He was also inducted into the Alabama Bowling Hall of Fame. Back in the day, “the big cheese” carried a 200+ average and bowled a perfect 300 game. He served as President and in other offices of the Mobile and AL State Bowling Associations. He was peculiar about what he ate; no meat, except bacon and it had to be crisp (no, burned). He said he set microwave on 7. I said, “you must have taken the battery out of the smoke detector” He ate Peas, “Mac-n-Cheese”, rice, Cheese Sandwiches, and “Auntie’s Egg Custard.”(Hardly anything else) He was an avid Alabama Fan!!! And he had a great sense of humor. He loved his boys and his grandkids with all his heart. And we are so thankful he prayed to receive Christ in his heart!!! He has now gone with Him to Heaven. He was preceded in death by his dad, Thomas M. Burroughs, mom, Rozella Burroughs Roberts, step dad, Floyd B. Roberts, brothers, Luverne and Buddy M. Burroughs and sister, Annie Faye Bond. He is survived by his three sons, Raymond (Angela) Burroughs, Ryan Burroughs and Aaron Burroughs, four grandchildren, Nicholas Burroughs, Allison Burroughs, Brooke Burroughs, and Connor Burroughs, one brother, Rev. Art Burroughs, mother of his children, Sheila (Lanny) Miley, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family would like to thank Spring Hill Hospital and Alacare. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 3 pm from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with visitation from 1 pm until service time. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
