Robert Earl Hollie

Robert Earl Hollie, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Known for his strong will, and deep devotion to family, Robert lived a life that was full, fearless, and a passion for living life on his own terms. Born on May 12, 1951, Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Pearl Phillips Edwards and Raymond Edwards, and by his beloved granddaughter, Chloe Elizabeth Hollie. Though his absence leaves an irreplaceable void, Robert’s life was one marked by resilience, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. He is survived by his only daughter, Stephanie Ann Hollie; his grandson and namesake, Brayden Robert Hollie; his granddaughter, Unique Hollie; and two great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Nelson and Maylee Nelson. To them, he was more than a grandfather—he was a fun loving, generous, constant presence through every chapter of life. Robert retired in 2015 after a long and proud career as a pipe welder—a profession that reflected his craftsmanship, tenacity, and pride in a job well done. In retirement, he devoted his time to caring for his parents, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his grandchildren. As a diehard Alabama football fan there was no mistaking where his loyalty lay—Robert lived for Alabama football and wore that passion loud and proud. From his earliest days, Robert was a rebel; a force of nature who lived many rich and varied lives. His eclectic life and diverse experiences prepped a foundation for a life of adaptability, spontaneity, and depth that allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life, backgrounds and social classes. Robert was a beloved friend and uncle to many. His loyalty ran deep to those whom he loved, his laugh was unforgettable, and his presence was magnetic. He will be remembered for his grit, his unwavering love and devotion to his daughter and grandchildren, and his profound wail of “Roll Tide” during Alabama football games. Robert leaves behind a legacy defined not only by his devotion to family but by the authenticity with which he lived every day. His life was a journey of resilience and connection—and his spirit lives on in the grandchildren he adored, the stories he shared, and every 'Roll Tide' still heard from those who knew him best.
