Michael Edward Reynolds

Michael Edward Reynolds died unexpectedly on January 18, 2023 at his residence. He was only 59 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Mike is survived and missed by his loving wife, Debbie (née Blocker) of 40 years; children, Court and Megan (Tommy); five grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, Tucker, Abby, and Aubrey Claire; mother, Bettye Catherine (Lee); siblings and their families, Randy (Robin), Tim (Debbie), Monty (Sara), Donna, Crissie (Chris); Blocker family: Peggy, Kirk (Vickie), Danny (Erica); other relatives, and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Donald; father-in-law, Donald; and grandparents, Mamie & Zimmerman Lee, A. D. Reynolds, and Julia Seals Reynolds. He was born June 13, 1963, in Centreville, Alabama. He later moved to St. Elmo, Alabama, where he met his wife and soulmate. Mike had an unquenchable thirst for adventure; some of his greatest joy came from adventuring with his two children. They created many memories while enjoying trips as a family visiting Disney World, taking cruises, and camping at Flint Creek. He took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren. He was always singing songs he made up to them and was the king of candy parties. Mike was a peacemaker. He worked in law enforcement for over 35 years. He began his career at the Mobile Sheriff’s Department, where he served until he retired as a Captain in 2007. He then went on to be the Public Safety Director in Chickasaw for 8 years. He became the Chief of Police for Poarch Band of Creek Indians in 2016. Mike was never scared to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy. Mike had incredible patience and always made time to help others. He was always willing to listen to others and help any way he could. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we should always do the right thing. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us. There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are for the outpouring of love and support from the law enforcement community. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 5-8 PM at Serenity Funeral Home. Funeral to be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 2 PM, also as Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
