Helen Beatrice Crist

Mrs. Helen Beatrice (Mullins) Crist, age 91, of Saraland, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Although, Helen will be greatly missed, her family and friends know this earth was not her home and are rejoicing that she is now with her Heavenly Father. She was a faithful member of College Park Baptist Church. Helen was born in Gulfport, Mississippi to Jesse and Lola Mullins. She graduated from Murphy High School. Helen was a proud member of the marching band and had the honor and privilege to perform for several ground breaking events for the city of Mobile. Helen spent her entire adult life as a minister's wife serving the Lord Jesus Christ in many capacities. She played the piano for more than 50 years in the different churches where she and her husband, Jimmy, ministered. Her favorite hobbies were sewing and cooking. Helen's most favorite activity was reading her Bible and studying past sermons her husband preached. She also had a part-time career as a Mary Kay makeup consultant and used this opportunity to witness to others. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Rev. James "Jimmy" Crist, Sr. and her dearest son, James "Calvin" Crist, Jr. Helen is survived by her sister and best friend, Debbie Glisson and her beloved daughter Diana Crist Onderdonk and son-in-law Mike Onderdonk. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Suzanne Crist, her grandsons Cory Crist (Ashley), Chad Onderdonk (Rebecca), her grandaughters Cristen Mahone (Todd), and Courtney Cavin (Chris), her great grandsons Michael Mahone, Connor Crist, Mark Cavin, Levi Onderdonk and Abel Onderdonk, her great granddaughters Anna Mahone, Blakeley Cavin, Lilly Cavin, and Harper Crist, and host of brothers and sisters in Christ, who dearly loved her and will deeply miss her. Helen was also preceded in death by her father Jesse Mullins, her mother Lola Beatrice Mullins; her brother Edward Mullins; her sister Edith Taylor; her brother Robert Mullins; and her brother Joseph Mullins. A visitation for Helen will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd., Theodore, Alabama 36582, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM. Special music will be performed by brother-in-Christ, Steve Davis and sister-in-Christ, Tracy Churchwell Harwood. A special celebration of life will be presented by Pastor Chris Nelson of College Park Baptist Church. Helen will be laid to rest in Serenity Memorial Gardens with her husband, Jimmy. Pallbearers will be Mike Onderdonk, Cory Crist, Chad Onderdonk, Todd Mahone, Chris Cavin, and Michael Mahone.
