Frank Markette White Jr.

Frank "Mark" White, Jr., age 67, beloved father and friend, passed away peacefully at The Retreat Hospice By Saad, in Mobile, AL, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nina White of Moss Point, MS; and sister, Janette Weigle (Tommy) of Slidell. He is survived by his children, Josh White (Kristen) of Mobile, AL, Tyler White (Jennifer) of Lucedale, MS, Blake Bridges (Holly) of Orange Beach, AL, Jarrett Mitchell of Orange Beach, AL, and Victoria Mitchell of Grove Hill, AL; grandchildren, Virginia Kate Thompson, Isaac White, Liv White, Keller White, Harper White, Asher Bridges, Rylan Mitchell, Laikynn Mitchell, Tyler Reed, and Nathan Mitchell; sister, Mary Hood (Jim) of Pensacola, FL; other relatives, and friends. Soon after Mark was received by his Lord, his daughter-in-law, Holly, said, "If this week has taught me anything, it's that in some very rare and wonderful cases, the size of the man is directly related to the size of his heart." If you knew Mark, you knew that what he loved, he loved big. He loved the days he spent on the field as number 56 at Mississippi State University, playing football for Coach Tyler, alongside his life-long friends. Through his final days his State ring adorned his hand and photos his walls, as he remembered the family he made there. He loved Life Church, the place where he met Jesus for the first time on January 16, 1995. He could be seen from anywhere in the room on the front row, proud to honor God's house, his pastors and friends, Scott Howard and Dick Braswell, and worship his Savior and friend, Jesus Christ. It is who he became in Him that made the greatest impact on those he loved most of all: his family. Affectionately known as Dad and PawPaw, Mark leaves behind a legacy that is grounded in faith, a sure foundation that all his children have been able to learn from and stand on. There is no greater gift a father can give his child, and for that they are richly blessed. Lastly, Mark loved people. He extended his big love of life and generosity through countless acts of kindness and invitations to join in prayer and conversation with everyone from his servers at restaurants to his pharmacists and neighbors. He had a gift for seeing people and will be fondly remembered by those he saw and loved so well. A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Mark's life on Sunday, September 18 at 4 PM at Life Church of Mobile: 8701 Zeigler Blvd Mobile, AL 36608.
