Eddie Bernice Moore Shaw

Mother Eddie Bernice Moore Shaw, a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, and native of Dixon Mills in Marengo County, was born on September 9, 1934. Mother Shaw was a former member of Washington Memorial AOH Church of God and a faithful member of Saraland A.O.H. Church of God. She was a devoted employee of Allen Memorial Home, where she served with compassion and dedication for many years until her retirement. She lived a life marked by her hard work, devotion, and compassion in her service to others throughout her career. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully transitioned into eternal rest at the age of 90 on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Eddie and Ola Dunning Moore; beloved husband, William Earl Shaw, Sr., six sisters, Sadie (L.T.) Dixon, Doree (Joe) Bouler, Evelyn (Leroy) Prayer, Ruth (Calvin) Tensley, Woodie (WC) Mixon, and Minnie (Frank) Wright; and six brothers, Leonard Moore, George (Josie) Moore, Nathaniel (Lucille) Moore, Alfate (Bertha) Moore, Overseer Robert (Hattie) Moore, and Ernest Moore; and two grandchildren, Harold Anthony Moore, Sr., and Quinton Earl Shaw, II (EJ), and one great-grandchild, Eric Knight, II (KJ). Cherishing her memory are her devoted children: four daughters—Gloria Moore, Patricia Edwards, Debra Moore, and Angelique Shaw Merriweather, all of Mobile, AL; and one son, Quinton Earl Shaw, Sr. of Mobile, AL. She also leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren: Louis Moore, Germaine Moore, Derrick Moore, Keshia (Samuel) Edwards Mackie, Charlotte Moore, and Austin Shaw, all of Mobile, AL; Willie B. Edwards, Jr. of Panama, FL; Wyvonnia Edwards Gordon (Blair) of Destin, FL. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Tramaine Henderson, Cikya Hancock, BreDeja Johnson, Zoi Moore, Christina Giselle Moore, Germaine Moore Jr., Bryan Moore, Andre Harris, Mario Harris, Alyiah Moore, Harold Anthony Moore Jr., Anthony Harold Moore, Makenna Edwards, Millie Edwards, Stella Edwards, Aariah Gordon, Ayana Gordon, Aariayana Gordon, and Armani Gordon. She was also blessed with three precious great-great-grandchildren: McKenzie Henderson, Brayson Henderson, and Bles’syn Sublett. A host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends will also remember her fondly
