Diane Elizabeth Hudson

Diane Elizabeth Rodrick Hudson, age 74, passed away on October 19, 2022, in Mobile, Alabama. Born July 9, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama she began life’s journey in Coden/Irvington before moving to Grand Bay for schooling. She then went to Alba High School where she graduated before moving onto trade school. Mrs. Diane’s early career included Shaky Jake’s, Shambeau’s and Simpson’s Grocery showing her a hard, devoted worker. Mrs. Diane met then later married Jesse Hudson on March 31, 1989, and they remained perfect partners for a strong 31 years. As a devoted wife, Mrs. Diane cared for her family daily. Mrs. Diane enjoyed puzzling, taking pictures as long as they were not of herself, and caring for the family. She never had to be asked to help, for she was already there with a helping hand and ready to support any of us. Mrs. Diane had 2 beautiful babies, Chris Rodrick and Miranda Hudson Smith. Besides attending school functions and parent participation, Mrs. Diane was always found in the company of Mr. Jesse. Together as a family, Mr. and Mrs. Hudson, along with their daughter, they attended First Baptist Church of Grand Bay. The house was never a lonely place as there were many whom Mrs. Diane considered her own. Mrs. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hudson; parents, Daniel and Etta “Hanna” Rodrick; and siblings, John Rodrick, Charles Rodrick, and Gloria “Lisa” Boykin. She is survived by her children, Chris (Kristy) Rodrick and Miranda (Matt) Smith; 2 grandsons, Riley and Jackson; siblings, Ernest “Ernie” Rodrick, Billy (Debbie) Rodrick, Carolyn (Richard) Phillips; in-laws, Nancy Rodrick and Ricky Boykin; and many other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers are Matt Smith, Tim Smith, Richard “Ricky” Boykin, Richard “Lil Ricky” Boykin, John “Robbie” Hunnicutt, and Kenneth “Ken” Dubose. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 12-2 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, followed by service at 2 PM. Interment will be held in Grand Bay Cemetery.
