Alfred Earl Howell

Alfred (Al) Earl Howell age 92 a long-time resident of Mobile, AL went to his new home in Heaven to be with God and his wife on April 14, 2025, from Lawrenceville, GA surrounded by loving family. Alfred Howell was born on June 1, 1932, in the city of Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of Clarence Leslie and Beulah Weatherington Howell. Al Howell graduated from Grainger High School in Kinston, NC and went on to East Carolina College and went into the National Guard and advanced to the rank of captain. Alfred Earl Howell married the love of his life, Lottie Mae Rose, on July 22, 1953, in Kinston, NC. They were married for almost 68 years until her passing in 2021. Al worked as a manager of Montgomery Wards in Raleigh, NC, Pensacola, Fl, Columbus, GA, and Dallas, TX before coming to Mobile, Alabama, and opening the family jewelry business, Ambassador Fine Jewelry and Rose Jewelry in Mobile and Saraland, AL for 30 plus years. He was a member of Dauphin Way and Cottage Hill Baptist church and was involved in missionary trips to Russia, China, Bulgaria and Nicaragua. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and watching Alabama Football and North Carolina basketball. Together they had 4 children, Terry Howell of Mobile, AL, Roy Howell (Kriss) of Dacula, GA, Kim Martinez (Anthony)of Mobile, AL and Paula Dumas (Steve)of Gulf Shores, AL. They have 16 Grandchildren, Ashley LaPoint of Texas, David Howell of Florida, Jenny Chandler of Georgia, Julie Howell of Georgia, Kori Howell of Georgia, Tiffany Archie of Alabama, Mike Martinez of Florida, Gabriella Martinez of Georgia, Tyler Martinez of Alabama, Patricia McNeil of Alabama, Trent Dumas of Georgia, Hannah Dumas of Alabama, James Dumas of Alabama, Lydia Dumas of Alabama, Daniel Dumas of Alabama, Zoe Dumas of Alabama, and 19 great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held for Mr. Howell on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 2:30 pm in Serenity Memorial Gardens. All family and friends attending the Graveside Service are requested to meet at Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, AL 36582 by 2:15 pm to line up for the procession to the Graveside Service. Interment will immediately follow at the same location.
