Susie Ann Bolden

Susie Ann Bolden, Born October 22, 1954, to the late Minge and Susie Bolden in Faunsdale, AL. She departed this life on Friday, May 16, 2025, at USA Medical Center in Mobile, AL. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Marengo County, AL. She later moved to Theodore, Alabama and joined Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Theodore, AL under the leadership of Dr. B.J. Parker, Sr. She moved to New Jersey after her 5-year career in the US Navy and joined Presbyterian Church. Later she moved to Atlanta, GA and joined Non-Denominational Church under the leadership of Dr. Barber. Susie was affectionately known by her family as ‘Ann’. She attended and graduated from Theodore High School. She attended Bishop State Community College after graduation and later joined the US Navy as a communication specialist. After an honorable discharge as an E-5, she attended the University of South Alabama and graduated with a degree in Marketing. She later moved to New Jersey where she worked for AT&T for more than 20 years. She then moved to Atlanta and worked in the Atlanta School System as a substitute teacher. Her final move brought her back to Theodore, AL in 2011 where she worked as a substitute teacher in the MCPSS. She also worked as an Poll Election Official until she became ill. She was also an active member of the Mobile Branch NAACP Unit 5044-B. She was preceded in death by her parents, Minge and Susie Bolden; 1 sister, Ellawese B. Walker; 1 brother, William Bolden; 3 brothers-in-law, Robert Walker, Samuel Walker, and Lloyd Alston. She leaves to cherish her memories: 3 devoted sisters, Mary B. Walker and Willie L. Alston, both of Theodore, AL, and Irene Bolden, Birmingham, AL; 4 brothers, Minge Bolden, Savannah, GA, James (Celia) Bolden, Sr., Virgil (Deborah) Bolden, and Calvin (Sharon) Bolden, all of Birmingham, AL; 1 sister-in-law, Deloris Bolden, Birmingham, AL; 15 nieces and nephews, 3 devoted, Ronald Walker, Marilyn Walker, and Darlene Harris, all of Theodore, AL; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 5:00PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 at the Alabama Veteran’s Cemetery at Spanish Fort, Alabama with full military honors.
