Pastor Lester Martin Hooker

Pastor Lester Martin Hooker was born June 16, 1950, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to his parents, father Jessie Lee Hooker, and his mother Jessie Dee Goodloe. He peacefully transitioned from this life to the eternal resting place on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Lester Hooker was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His Life: He served with the United States Coast Guard for 4 years. He then worked as a Construction Engineer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for over 42 years. Lester graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1970. Being a true believer of Christ and receiving his salvation, Lester received his Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from Friends International Christian University on the 8th day of April 2004. He was ordained as a Pastor by the late Apostle Donald Anderson and the late Prophetess Rosa L. Anderson on the 28th day of April 2007 in Jackson, MS. Pastor Lester Hooker founded Faith, Hope and Love Ministries with his wife Shirley Hooker, where they maintained a physical ministry and radio ministry for over 15 years. He was united in holy matrimony to his wife Shirley Hooker for over 30 years. Pastor Lester was a man of integrity and faith and committed to living a life to worship God. He valued, loved, and was faithful to his family. In addition to being a compassionate husband and devoted father, Pastor Lester was also a cherished grandfather. His grandchildren knew him as a warm, consistent soul who always had time for a hug, a laugh and a story. His legacy of love and faithfulness will live on through us all. Pastor Lester Hooker leaves to cherish his memories: his children Afiya K. Hooker, La’Kenya (Hooker) Johnson, Mawiyah (Hooker) Duckworth, Jania Hooker, Sam Hooker, and Teresa Hooker; his siblings Willie Lee Hooker (Sandra) of Ft. Washington, MD., Charles Hooker of Jackson, MS., Linda Peterson of Clarksdale, MS., Debbie Fonda (Willie) of Lithonia, GA., Sandra Smith (Murray) of Ellenwood, GA. and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 am from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home in Theodore, AL. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at the Serenity Memorial Gardens Wall of Honor.
