Laura Catherine Huff

Laura Catherine Huff, 46, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama, the city where she was born and spent her life surrounded by those she loved. Born on February 17, 1979, Laura was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and friend. She is remembered for her deep compassion and unwavering love for her family. Laura’s greatest joy came from being a mother to her two children, Christopher Logan Kay (Lauren) and Allison Marie Kay. Her love for them was boundless and evident in every aspect of her life. She also shared a close bond with her father, Jack C. Huff; her brothers, Stephen J. Huff (Melissa) and Richard V. Huff; and her nieces Makayla Mosley (Albert) and Stephanie Huff along with Aunt Trudy Carlock and countless other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Laura’s extended family included Chuck and Joyce Green, “lil sis” Courtney Green, and Joshua Kay (Brittany), all of whom held special places in her heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Christine Staples, grandparents Jack and Rosemary Huff and Jake and Rita Staples, and stepmother Fay Huff. Laura held their memories close throughout her life. Laura faced life’s challenges with remarkable strength - none more so than her courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). With fierce determination and resilience, she met each day with grace despite the toll the disease took on her body. Her perseverance inspired those around her, as did the quiet dignity with which she carried herself through even the most difficult times. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to her friends and the dedicated medical teams over the years who supported Laura throughout her journey with MS. Their love and care brought comfort during some of the most trying moments of her life. May Laura Catherine Huff’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm cst at Serenity Funeral Home. The celebration of Laura's life will be held immediately following at 2:00 pm cst in the funeral home's chapel. Deacon Ed Connick will officiate.
