Judy Patrick Foster

Judy A. McClain Patrick Foster, age 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula, MS, surrounded by her loving family. She was born, March 26, 1946, in Laurel, MS and was predeceased by her father, W. A. McClain, her mother, Eunice McClain and her younger sister Sandy McClain. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Stephen Foster, and “Chester”, her loving dachshund and constant companion whom she also loved dearly. Judy is also survived by her younger sister Sherry (Mike) McSween, who live in Mobile, AL. She also leaves to treasure her memory many nieces and nephews. Judy was blessed with bonus children and family: Jerry and Rendy Foster and kids, Amy and David Gregory and kids, Rosemary and David Butt and kids. Judy worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding in the Payroll Department from June 3, 1969, to March 30, 2007 (38 years). In the conscientious performance of her job, Judy interacted professionally with many of her coworkers, managers and vice presidents and coordinated successfully and efficiently with personnel outside of the shipyard on many issues on a daily basis. Judy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gautier, MS. She was a Christian and lived a very selfless and giving life, always thinking of others by baking a cake or banana nut bread to surprise a friend for their birthday, or sending a greeting card, always very thoughtful and aware of others’ feelings. She was accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet and knit. After her retirement, she truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like staying in touch with friends and family. Judy and Steve farmed and gardened together. She spent a lot of time canning the fruits and vegetables of her planting labor. Judy will be greatly missed by her family, coworkers, neighbors and many friends. The Foster-McSween families express a huge THANK YOU to all the doctors, nurses, Chaplain and hospice personnel at Singing River Hospital, Pascagoula, MS and Fr. David Doss for all the love and care during this very difficult time. Family and friends and others whose lives were touched by Judy are invited to attend the Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, AL, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 12 o’clock noon to 2:00 pm to honor and celebrate the life of Judy Patrick Foster and reminisce, grieve, support each other, or just chat. A chapel service will follow visitation time at 2:00 pm along with interment in Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
