Joseph Wendell Radford Sr.

Joseph Wendell Radford passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in Los Angeles, CA at Providence Saint John’s Hospital. He was the son of YT and Estelle Moyd Radford. Joe was born on October 17, 1938, in Phenix City, AL. He was proceeded in death by his Mother, Father and late wife Patricia, the mother of his children. He is survived by his wife Karen Radford of Los Angeles, CA, sister, Linda Radford Windsor of Smith Station, AL, his five children, Debra Tillman (Wesley Sprinkle) of Lucedale, MS, Joseph (Lisa) Radford Jr of Atlanta, GA, Richard Scott (Denise) Radford of Mobile, AL, Pamela (Charles) Rice of Lucedale, MS, Mark (Michele) Radford of Mobile, AL and step-son Donald Condon of Culver City, CA. Grandchildren are Theresa (Walter) VanVleck, Samantha Rice, Chad Radford, Corky (Destiny) Tillman, Joshua (Kaitlynn) Rice, Kaitlan Radford, Ashley Radford, Destiny (Buck) Gill, Jessica Radford, Dillon Radford, Scotty Radford, Sebastian Radford and multiple great grandchildren. Joe was an Aerospace Control and Warning Systems Superintendent with the United States Air Force for 24 years. Upon retirement from the AirForce, he worked as a defense consultant with Unisys, Northrup Grumman and multiple other companies. Outside of work and other activities, Joe was an avid golfer and could always be found competing at the golf course on Saturdays, where he had a standing date with his golf buddies. Joe also loved the horse races bringing to mind… “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7. Military Honor arrangements are being provided by Serenity Gardens Funeral Home located at 8691 Old Pascagoula Road Theodore, AL 36582. Pallbearers are Joshua Rice, Corky Tillman, Dillon Radford, Chad Radford, Scotty Radford, Mahlon VanVleck, Matthew VanVleck, Camdyn Tillman. Honorary pallbearers are Sebastian Radford, Caden Gill, Braxton Radford, Elijah Radford, and Dash Hudson. The family and everyone at Serenity Gardens thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and sympathy. Services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Rd. Theodore, AL. A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
