John Robert Wills Sr.

John Robert Wills Sr. was called home to be with his Lord Jesus on October 3, 2017. He was saved into the family of God June 7, 1998 – Praise the Lord. Born in Philadelphia, PA on July 22, 1945, he was the second son born of eleven children to the late Harold E. and Dorothy B. (Mathias) Wills. He resided in Mobile, AL since April 1976. John was a graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School in Bellwood, PA and has remained close to his fellow graduating classmates of 1963. He also attended one year at Moody Bible College. He serve in the U.S. Coast Guard for 8 years. He retired from working at a job to working for the joy of his labor at 57. He enjoyed music and the church choir. He was a writer and loved the English language and through his words, he was a great story teller. He was an amazing photographer and self-taught website designer. He was thought of as a computer wizard and had began using a word processor when they first came out and graduated to the latest / greatest computers as they were available. He has owned four boats over the years and loved boating. He had a passion for travel and the driving it took to get to the destination. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold E. Wills Jr. and sister, Barbara Lyon. John is survived by his wife Vickie Wills with whom he celebrated his 41st wedding anniversary on February 14, 2017; children, Mark (Sherry) Kubala, Jr grandchildren, Zoey, Shannon and Ryan (Tuajana) of Mobile, AL ; Michelle Kubala (Mark) Matthews; grandchildren Kayla & Elise Christen of Brownstown, IN, Cassie and David Matthews of Atlanta, GA ; John Wills Jr.; grandchild Samantha Wills;great grandchildren, Oliver and Kaylea and Heather Wills (Larry) Lane ; Richard Lee Lane III, Whitney and Lindsey Lane of Altoona, PA; Siblings, Douglas (Tammy) Wills of Altoona, PA; Kenneth (Debbie) Elmwood III and Kathleen (Charles) Dyer of Sun City West, AZ; Patricia (Budd) Siverd of North Cambria, PA; Brenda McIntire of Catonsville, MD; Barry (Susan) Wills of Sunbury, PA; Bruce (Melba) Wills of Bowie, MD; Judith (Gene) Bialecki of Danville, PA; Peggy (Fletcher) Comer of Danville, PA; sister-in-law, Barbara Wills Cobb of Cranberry Township, PA; brother-in-law, Douglas Lyons of Bloomsburg, PA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A memorial service will begin at 4:00pm on October 14, 2017 in the First Baptist Tillman’s Corner Church at 5660 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL 36619 with the Pastor, Brother Greg Pouncey officiating. Inurnment is in Serenity Rest at Serenity Funeral Home. Memorials in memory of John may be sent to First Baptist Tillman’s Corner Building Fund.
