James Willard King

James Willard King age 66, a resident of Mobile Alabama, was welcomed to heaven on April 24th, 2018 at 2:58 AM. He was born on August 27th,1951, in Dennis, Mississippi. James was preceded in death by his Parents, James Clayton King and Rosa Lee King, and his Sister, Mary Catherine King. He is survived by his Wife, Debbie (Jernigan) King, his Son, James Albert King, his Daughter, Lisa (King) Hodge, his Son-In-Law, Stephen Allen Hodge, his Granddaughters, Kaylee Ann Hodge and Natalee Abigail Hodge, his Sister's, Erline (King) Edmond, Sharon (King) Webre, and Nelda (King) Allenbach. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and then attended Trade School. He worked at Teledyne Continental Motors from April 16th, 1973, and then eventually retired there on March 1st, 2006. He was a member of the UAW from 1973-2018, and was a Recording Secretary and the Chairman of the Retirees for several years. James had an endless amount of love for his family, and would do anything for them. One of his favorite things to do was to be around people, he enjoyed everyone's company. It always gave James such great joy to be in the presence of others, especially children. When around children, you could see him living from the heart that Jesus gave him. The love of the lord shined bright through James, and he shared that love with everyone. One of the many great things about James was his ability to make everyone smile. You couldn't be around him and not enjoy your time spent with him. James didn't only have an immense amount of love for people, but he also had it for animals. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and yard work. Anyone that knew James, knew that he had a passion for sweets. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Home with a 4:00 pm Memorial Service in Serenity's Chapel. To get to Serenity Funeral Home from I-10, take Exit 10 (Bayou La Batre / Dawes), head toward Dawes. You will pass a caution light and the first intersection you come to is McDonald Rd. and Old Pascagoula Rd. - make a left onto old Pascagoula Rd and the funeral home is 1/4 mile on the left.
