Herbert Eugene Thompson Sr

“I can do ALL things through HIM who Strengthens me” Philippians 4:13 It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Herbert E. Thompson Sr. on September 7, 2025; he was a wonderful Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend. Herbert was born January 16,1938 in Mobile County; he was the eighth of nine (predeceased) children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Thompson. Herbert professed his faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and became a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, Mobile AL. There he was a faithful deacon, member of the male chorus amongst other Church activities. Herbert treasured the love of his devoted wife, Edna E Thompson. Together they shared 66 years of marriage built on faith, loyalty, and a bond that grew stronger with every season of their life. Their love story has been a shining example to their children, grandchildren, and all who knew them. Through his earthly journey has ended, the love they created will live on endlessly, a reminder that true love never fades. He lived his life with strength, humility, and an unwavering dedication to his family. To his children and grandchildren, he was more than a provider—he was a guiding light, a steady hand, and a source of endless wisdom and encouragement. He will always be remembered for his warm heart, his kindness towards others, and the joy he found in simple moments with his loved ones. His legacy of love, hard work, and faith will continue to live on through the family he deeply cared for. In addition, he was a pillar to the Hillsdale Community and Family. Brother Thompson was a dedicated worker and retired from Holman Inc after working 59 years. Brother Thompson is survived by his wife Edna E. Thompson, Mobile AL; three devoted sons – Herbert (Thelma) Thompson of Theodore, AL; Michael (Artra) Thompson of Huntsville, AL and Patrick Thompson of Atlanta, GA; two devoted daughters – Linda (Joshua) Roberts of Mobile, AL and Beverly R. Robinson of Mobile, AL: 15 grandchildren Khary (Nikitha) Foster of Mobile, AL; Kim(Antonio) Witherspoon of Irvington, AL; Tyriss (Amber) Foster of Atalanta, GA; PJ (Aleshia) Douglass of Ocean Spribgs, MS; Larvetta (Elton) Douglass of Mobile, AL; Herbert (Jasmine) Thompson III of Mobile, AL; Michelle Thompson of Dallas, TX; Natalie Thompson of Fort Worth, TX; Nicole Thompson of Fort Worth, TX; Johnna (Vincent) Fair of Mobile, AL; Kaiya(Carlton) Thompson-Norris of Mobile, AL; Johnice Robinson of Mobile, AL; Jayce Knight of Mobile, AL; Patrick Thompson Jr of Mobile, AL and countless great grandchild and several god children.
