Faye M. Pavelcheck

Faye Maxine Windham, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 17, 1936. Faye Windham McDonald Pavelchak passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at The Retreat, in Mobile, AL., she was 89 years old. She is preceded in death by her children’s father, Travis McDonald, Sr., her beloved husband, Joseph Pavelchak, children, David W. McDonald, Paul C. McDonald, Donna F. Koraska, son in law, Robert Jackson, and grandson, Terry Noah McDonald. She leaves behind her children, Travis J. McDonald, Jr., Lettie F. Jackson (Robert, deceased), Susan M. Allen (Tim Olson), Mary E. Hall (Eddie), Ruth M. Wright (Bobby), grandchildren, Robin Cross, Joey McDonald, Robert Stephen Jackson, Charles Jackson, Brooke A. Busby. Jamie L. Carter, Jessica L. Dabbs, Matthew A. Hulcher, Amber N. Caviness, Ashley Carter, Dionna Adams, Brittany Beech, and Taylor W. Hunt, many great grandchildren, beloved friends and church family. Faye was born an orphan, yet even from her earliest days she grew into a woman defined by strength, devotion, and an unwavering capacity to love. At the age of 15, she married Travis McDonald, a career military man fifteen years her senior, and together they built a life marked by service, sacrifice, and deep family bonds. She began her family at sixteen and spent the years that followed moving across the country to remain by her husband’s side while raising their children. Faye committed herself wholeheartedly to every role she embraced. She served faithfully in her church, volunteered in numerous capacities within her children’s schools, and offered her time and talents generously throughout her community. But of all her callings, her greatest joy was children, her own first, though she often reminded them that she could love any child. Children were drawn to her naturally, sensing the genuine warmth and affection that radiated from her. Among her children, a common and cherished reflection is that Faye was an extraordinary, exemplary role model, unlike any other person they had ever known. She lived her life with a true servant’s heart, giving freely and graciously every day of her life. Faye’s family extends their heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to the staff of Crowne Nursing Home and Saad’s Retreat for the care and compassion shown to their mother. Their support brought the family great comfort.
