Cynthia Lulurell Wilson

Cynthia “Cindy” Lulurell Pond Wilson, age 71, passed from this life to her eternal reward on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Grand Bay, Alabama. Cindy was born on January 25, 1954, in Bamburg Germany. She was originally named Ramona Diane Durr until being adopted at the age of 9 months from an orphanage there by her parents who were stationed in Germany with the US Army. Her name was then changed to Cynthia Lulurell Pond, yes her name really was Lulurell! She was brought to the United States at the age of 2, and became a naturalized citizen at age 7. She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert Charles Pond and Sarah Grace Watson Pond, and her husband of 46 years, Chester Elwood Wilson. She is survived by her brother Robert Allen Pond and four children Katherine (Ellis) DeMouey, David (Heather) Wilson, Daniel (Jessica) Wilson, and Charity(Frank)Conway. 9 grandchildren: Andrew(Hannah), Tristin (Zoee), Emilye, Aliviah, Charlotte, Paisleigh, Audrey, Eryn and Lewis. Cindy flourished in her role as a homemaker. She can be remembered fondly for her good cooking (especially her meatloaf, spaghetti, and waffles … Karen, wink wink!), and she always kept a neat and tidy home. She helped her loving husband, Chester create an environment where her family could thrive even through some very lean times. Her family would like to acknowledge all of her devoted caretakers, and would like to especially thank Michelle Morgan and her “Adopted Daughter”, Lawanda Banks, for going the extra mile by offering love, compassion and friendship during her long and challenging health journey. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cindy’s life on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. , followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Serenity Funeral Home’s Chapel. Interment will take place immediately afterward at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Her pastor of 28 years, Rev. C. H. “Rusty” Johnson will officiate the services. Honoring her as Pallbearers will be: Her sons: David and Daniel Wilson, her grandsons: Andrew DeMouey and Tristin Johnson, and special friends: Chuckie Scrivener, Frank Conway, Joshua Maples, Mikey Sweeny, Charles Sebert.
