Christina Nicole Simmons

Dr. Christina Nicole Simmons was a loving wife, sister, daughter, and best friend. She left this world suddenly on December 3, 2020 at age 43. Christina is preceded in death by her father, Robert Arthur Waters; brother, Robert David Waters; and step-brother, Bennie Mosley. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jason of Saraland, AL; mother, Martha “Marti;” step-father, Joseph “Poppy” Stewart of Hixson, TN; brother, Stephen Stewart of Hixson, TN; brother, Kevin Waters; a special niece, Madeline “mini-me” Stewart; her favorite aunt, Deborah Waters Caudle; 3 furry children, Morris, Abby, and Shadow; 2 godchildren, Tripp and Haley Cline; 1 step-sister; 2 step-brothers; 1 brother-in-law; 8 nieces and 2 nephews; and countless family and friends all of whom she loved dearly. Christina was born on November 19, 1977, in Mobile, AL. She graduated from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2002 with a degree in biology and earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy in 2009. She met Jason, “a man with the biggest heart ever,” in 2008 and they were wed in February of 2010. Christina was Jason’s love, an exemplary pharmacist, and an ardent supporter of Atlanta Braves baseball and Auburn Tigers football. Christina cherished her friends and family. She was loyal, compassionate, and honest; the kind of friend who could know all the messy parts of your life and still love you unconditionally. Christina had a vibrant personality that shone through in everything she did and with everyone she encountered. It was hard to be around her and not find yourself smiling, singing, or laughing till your sides hurt. “A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.” Christina was truly one of the nicest and will forever be the best. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on December 17 at 12 PM until 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Mobile SPCA in Christina’s name. The family would like to thank Dr. Phil Almalouf and the staff at University of South Alabama hospital for the care Christina received in her final days.
