Charles Ulman Presley

10/25/1931 - 11/1/2025 Charles Ulman Presley, 94, was born on 10/25/1931 in Garland, Alabama to Norvin and Essie Presley. He was the youngest of seven children who have all preceded him in death. He graduated from McKenzie High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Navy the same year. He served during the Korean War and was stationed in many places, including the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, Korea, and Japan. He was discharged in 1954 in Seattle, Washington. He loved to talk about this time to anyone who would sit and listen. He could tell you in great detail all about the train ride home to his beloved Alabama. In 1955, he married Annie Mae Sellers and celebrated 70 years of marriage this past February. Together, they had 3 children, Albert Thomas, who passed in March 2025, Mahlon Benson, and Doris Ann. They resided in Mobile, AL in their early married life and Charles worked for Brookley Field until its closure. They were transferred to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1967. They thought the world had come to an end but grew to love Texas and the many friends and church family they met in 25 years there. Charles was an Elder in the RLDS church and served as pastor of the Corpus Christi congregation. Charles retired and returned to Alabama in 1991 because he wanted to “go home and grow some peas”. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing a garden every year and sharing his abundance with his family and friends. Charles loved reading almost as much as he loved watching the Crimson Tide, and he absolutely bled Crimson red. Charles is survived by his wife Annie Mae Presley, his son Mahlon Presley (Gloria Presley) of Victoria, Texas, and his daughter Doris Startz (Donnie Startz) of Mobile, Alabama. Grandchildren – Tyler Startz (McKenzie Startz) of Mobile, Alabama; Thomas Presley (Amber Presley) of Meyersville, Texas; Charles Presley (Amanda Presley) of San Antonio, Texas; Chrissi Vincent of Burbank, California; Christian Vincent (Heather Vincent) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Great Grandchildren – Dakota Presley, Dylan Presley of Meyersville, Texas, Aiden Vincent, and Lily Vincent of Las Vegas, Nevada.
