Charles Eugene Lyles

Charles “Charlie” Eugene Lyles, 82, of Theodore, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025 at Mobile Infirmary, in Mobile, Alabama, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held at Baumhauer Road Baptist Church, on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 3350 Baumhauer Road, Theodore, Alabama. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., the Service follows from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. with fellowship after the Service. Charlie was born on March 21,1943, in Anguilla, Mississippi, son of the late Cecil Eugene Lyles and Lois Bates Lyles. He was the owner of the Fowl River Towing Company providing outstanding service for over forty years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving our Country with faith and honor. Charlie was a man of great character with an attitude and spirit of hard work, loyalty, and honesty and loved his family beyond measure. He served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Fowl River Volunteer Fire Station for fifty-seven years where he served as Assistant Fire Chief and Fireman, always putting God, Family, and community first. He was a Christian and a member of the Baumhauer Road Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon leading and teaching Christian values within the Church. Charlie had numerous hobbies including bowling, fishing, hunting, and classic cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carl Lyles of Whitehouse Fork, AL, and Jerry Lyles of Bay Minette, AL, and son-in-law, William (Billy) Knight of Theodore, AL. Charlie is survived by his beloved brother Danny Lyles of Bay Minette, AL; the love of his life and beautiful Bride of 62 Years, Robbie Long Lyles of Theodore, AL, son, Charles (Gene) Eugene Lyles, Jr (Kelly) of Smiths Station, AL, and daughter, Sheri Lyles Knight of Theodore, AL; eleven grandchildren, Tiffany Carpenter, Patrick Moore, Jonathon Lyles, Jeremy Ealum (Bethany), Chris Knight, Raymond Castillo, Sara Bowens (Johnathon), Samantha Castillo, Olivia Faith Chestnutt (Jarrett), Krista Middleton (Jacob), Anna Marie Lyles (Fiancée Cooper); nine precious great-grandchildren, Natasha Olsen, Harry Olsen, Derrick Moore, Lizzie Moore, Elliott Ealum, Elijah Bowens, Dawson Ealum, Zander Bowens, and Rayden Bowens; a niece and numerous nephews, extended family members and many caring friends.
