Bobbie Jean Smith

Bobbie Jean Brunson Smith, a resident of Irvington, Alabama, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, on August 2, 1941, to the late William Walter Brunson and Fannie Ruth Brunson. Bobbie Jean was one of seven siblings and was preceded in death by Johnnie Bell, Donnie, Heron and Betty Ruth. She married the love of her life, Ronald “Ronnie” Smith, and together they shared 64 years of marriage. From this union came three children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Ronald Smith; her children, Belinda Wilcox, Ronda Williams (Jon), and Ron Smith; and her beloved fur baby, Lilly Smith. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Alison (Jared) Pruitt, Eric (Estefania) Wilcox, Thomas (Alonja) Wilcox, Jonluke (Moira) Williams, Hannah Williams, Haleigh Smith, and Hayden Smith; and her great-grandchildren: Bryce Pruitt, Hallie Pruitt, Ethan Wilcox, Ellis Pruitt, Estella Wilcox, Lucas Williams, Anniston Williams, Esther Wilcox, Scarlett Pruitt, and Caroline Williams. She is also survived by her siblings, Charletha Johnston, Eddie Brunson (Rose), and her extended family Clyde and Frances Smith; lifelong friends Linda Steiner (Fred), Patricia Taper, Dr. Regina Benjamin, Dr. Ruth Evans-Mays and Sabra Horne (Jay); along with a host of nieces, nephews, beloved friends, adopted children, and grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for family; with family receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Serenity Funeral Home, with Rev. Ricky Turner and Rev. Eddie Brunson officiating. Graveside services will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. A celebration of life reception will be held at Bayou Clinic following the services. Pallbearers will be Eric Wilcox, Thomas Wilcox, Jonluke Williams, Hayden Smith, Jared Pruitt, and Bryce Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers are Ethan Wilcox, Ellis Pruitt, and Lucas Williams. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice, including the nurses, aides, and staff, for their compassionate care—especially Hannah, RN, and Brittany, CNA—as well as sitters Ursula and Gina.
