In Loving Memory of Barbara Jean Kennedy Barbara Jean Kennedy, born on October 4, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Clarence and Josephine Thompson, embarked on her final journey on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. She is reunited in the embrace of eternity with her late husband, Willie Kennedy, who had gone ahead of her. She was preceded in death, by her brother, Jessie Thompson. Barbara was a proud graduate of Williamson High School, Class of 1967, in Mobile, Alabama. She possessed a larger-than-life spirit that was infectious to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter was a melody that resonated with warmth and joy, and her smile was as contagious as it was radiant. Throughout her life, Barbara found fulfillment in helping others. She dedicated herself as a Personal Caretaker, where her boundless love and compassion extended to those fortunate enough to have her by their side. Her caring nature touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark of kindness. Barbara was a devoted Jehovah's Witness, unwavering in her faith and always ready to share her beliefs with others. Her spiritual journey was a source of strength, guiding her through life's challenges and inspiring those around her. Travel was one of Barbara's great passions, and she cherished the experiences and memories she gathered from her adventures. Yet, her heart found its truest joy in the company of her beloved family. Her love for them was boundless, and she relished every moment spent together. Her friendly nature made her an instant friend to all she met, and her warm presence lit up any room she entered. Barbara Jean Kennedy was a remarkable soul, cherished by many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the love she shared. Barbara's legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and faith will forever be a beacon of light in our lives. Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, loving and devoted children, Joyce Griffin Nelson, Willie L. Griffin Jr., Felicia Griffin Coleman; grandchildren, Gerald Griffin, Kiara Coleman, LaShonda Coleman, Tiereney Brown, Willie Griffin III, Tatiyana Warren; great grandchildren, Daniel Griffin, Naliana Griffin, Rikya Carothers, Kyleigh Griffin, Baleigh Griffin, Kiyommi Hall and Iylah Griffin; extended loving family, James Griffin (Joyce), Los Angeles, CA, Arthur Griffin, Sr., Reginald Griffin, Gwendolyn Griffin, Brenda Griffin, Denise Knight, a host of nieces and nephews that will be remembered and cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
