Annie C. Barry

Annie C. Robinson Barry, age 93, Born October 4, 1931, in Toomsuba, Mississippi, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 25, 2025, at 11:18 a.m., surrounded by the love of family and friends. A beloved daughter of Toomsuba, Mississippi, Annie was born into a legacy of strength and resilience as a descendant of the Robinsons and Youngs of the Meridian, Mississippi area. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at The Little Hope Baptist Church in Toomsuba, Mississippi which began the foundation for her lifelong faith. Annie was the cherished daughter of the late Hollis S. Robinson and Leeanna B. Young Robinson. She was preceded in death by her devoted brothers John Raymond, William, Marvin, Rusha, and Hollis Bryant Robinson, and her loving sisters Ernestine Carlisle, Effie Robinson, Maude Wilkerson, Geneva Hall, Valonia Smith, Ella M. Winfrey, and Ruth Harris. Throughout her extraordinary 93 years, from her many journeys from Mississippi, St. Louis Missouri, Mobile, Alabama, Boston, Massachusetts (45 years), Houston, TX, Jacksonville, FL, Mobile, AL, back to Houston TX, and now her final resting place in Mobile, AL. Annie embodied kindness, perseverance, and a deep love for her community and family. Her devotion showed at Mount Olive No.1 Baptist Church in Mobile, AL, where her children were raised. Later, she joined Concord Baptist Church in Boston, Massachusetts where she was a faithful member ministering to many lives. Her legacy will be remembered in the hearts of those she touched with her joyous gut-wrenching laugh, wisdom, humor, and compassion. Annie lived a life full of faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved especially her Heavenly Father. Annie leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure her memory. Her gentle spirit and timeless grace will live in the stories and traditions she passed down through generations. She was a great storyteller of her life events and reciting poems from early childhood. A celebration of life for Annie, our beloved Mother, will be held in Theodore, Alabama on February 8, 2025, with visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, Alabama 36582 with the ceremonial rites following at 11:00 a.m. The family invites all who knew Annie to come together to honor a life well-lived; helping the family celebrate the extraordinary woman we all loved. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
