Amy Alison Pope-Snead

Amy was born on October 14, 1965, in Mobile, AL, to Kathryn Bryan and Charles Pope. One of 4 children, she was a bright student attending Ben C. Rains High School. She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Bryan; grandson, Devon Parker; stepfather, Douglas Bryan; and brother, Charles Pope Jr. She was a kind and caring wife, momma, Gigi and friend. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she cherished every moment she got to spend with them. She loved spending time with Willie and her family at home or on their boat or on trips to the Mountains together, just sharing time and love meant so much to her. She called being with Willie and having a Margarita in her hand her happy place. She also was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan, RTR, and saw every game either at the stadium or on television. She and Willie were also active in a Mardi Gras organization, something she looked forward to every year. She loved holidays and loved decorating their home for each one, some more so than others. Amy retired from Advanced Auto Parts in 2023, as store manager, having excelled in a field dominated by men, having advanced from cashier and driver, and counter clerk, after 35 years of loyal service. She received many awards for Outstanding Sales, Manager of the Month, Employee of the Year and numerous other awards and accolades from her fellow employees, management and loyal customers who lovingly called her AJ. She knew her regular customers by name and thought of them as her friends. She truly loved her job and often shared her knowledge and management skills with her employees, making them better at their job, helping them advance in their careers. Sadly, Amy departed this life peacefully on August 26, 2024, at her home. She retired after a long busy day spent with the love of her life, her husband, Willie, with plans for tomorrow, but never woke up in the morning on this earth. Instead, she gained her wings and will forever watch over the ones she left behind to cherish her legacy. Amy leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Willie Snead; her father, Charles Pope Sr.; daughter, Amanda (Heather) Gabbard; son, Michael (Betty) Gabbard; son, Eric (Ariel) Parker; daughter, Gabrielle (Frankie) Snead; a devoted aunt, Sherry Houk; 3 grandchildren, Donimon, Dario and Eli Parker; sisters, April Johnson and Kathryn Burge; great grandchildren, Devon, Letty and Emery; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends to cherish her memory that will allow all to remember Amy forever. A memorial visitation will be held at the Serenity Event Center in Theodore, AL, from 1 pm until 2 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024. A memorial service will follow at 2 pm.
