    Vance Stilver Cain III

    February 27, 1955 - February 9, 2022

    Vance Stilver Cain III, age 66, passed away on February 9, 2022. He was a commercial fisherman for over 40 years and the last 10 years of his career was spent at Bay Concrete from where he retired. He was a native of Bayou La Batre, Alabama and a resident of Irvington, Alabama. He was born on February 27, 1955 to Vance Stilver Cain Jr. and Hilda Eunice Hutchinson. On February 9, 2022 he went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by loved ones. He loved the Lord and teaching his weekly Bible study lessons. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved watching Alabama football with his family on Saturdays and enjoyed his time on the open water, bass fishing, and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance Stilver Cain Jr. and Hilda Eunice Hutchinson; sisters, Ruthie Mizell and Vickie Beiza; and nephew, Michael Robin Cain Jr. He is survived by his wife, best friend, and the love of his life of 47 years, Jamelle Cain; daughters, Joni (David) Grissett and Julie (Ben) Crenshaw; sons, Vance "Bebo" (Stephanie) Cain IV and Gage Cain; grandchildren, Haley Grissett, Billy Hornacek, Marissa Grissett, Leigha (John) Tipp, Gavin Cain, and Hagen Grisset; great-granddaughter, Ada James Tipp; sisters, Sue (Gene) Clark and Kathy (Frankie) Godwin; brother, Robin (Jimmie Anne) Cain; brother-in-law, Charlie Beiza; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Pall bearers are Gavin Cain, Hagen Grissett, Ben Crenshaw, David Grissett, Dale Cain, Mickey Godwin, Norwood "Bubba" Cain, Wilfred Gazzier, and Willie Gazzier. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 10 AM-12 PM, followed by service at 12 PM. Interment will be in Oddfellows Cemetery.
