    Thomas Allen Auld

    August 14, 1937 - December 12, 2021

Retired fisherman and avid hunter, Tommy Auld’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. His love for life will live on through all the people he has touched in his life. Tommy passed away on December 12, 2021 at the age of 84. He was surrounded by loved ones near and far, who will honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Even though his failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a light in our lives that will never dim. He was a simple man that took great pleasure in taking care of others and teaching others about his life’s lessons (and he had many). His love for his family and friends was an unconditional love that is so very rare. Tommy was well respected in the shrimping industry from the East Coast of the Carolinas all the way to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. However, what Tommy felt was his biggest accomplishment in his life, was being a “rock” for his family and close friends. This is where his zest for life stemmed from. He was a caring husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. Tommy will be missed by so many. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Judythe “Judy;” parents, Jack and Dorothy Auld; brother, Richard; youngest daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Darryl Davis. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Phyllis Walker; son, David (Connie) Auld; grandson, Steven (Meggan) Gabbard; 4 granddaughters, Taylor Davis, Misty (Will) King, Chani Auld, and Kristy Auld; 3 great-grandchildren, Emily, Bayleigh, and Thomas Gabbard; brother, William (Cindy) Auld; 2 sisters, Harriet (Joe) Prine and Gay (Paul) Lambeth; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Trampus Alsup, Scott Horton, Chad Lambeth, Mark Overstreet, Travis Lambeth, and Shane Shaw. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Overstreet and William (Billy) Auld Jr. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 2 PM in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Attendees will line up at Serenity Funeral Home, then go in procession to the gravesite. In the case of rain, it will be held in the chapel.
