February 29, 1936 - June 8, 2021
Lottie Mae Rose Howell took the wondrous journey home to her Heavenly Father on the evening of Tuesday June 8, 2021. She is survived by her husband of almost 68 years, Alfred E. Howell; their four children, Terry Howell, Roy Howell (Kriss), Kim Martinez (Anthony), and Paula Dumas (Steve); and beloved family member, Marcia Howell. Her life of love and service to her family as well as everyone she ever met includes her 16 grandchildren, Ashley, David, Jenny, Julie, Kori, Tiffany, Michael, Tyler, Gabriella, Patricia, Trent, Hannah, James, Lydia, Daniel, and Zoe; and 17 loving great-grandchildren, Sheldon, Madison, Logan, Flora, Kameron, Ciara, Luke, James, Grace, Faith, Joy, Hope, Uriah, Aurora, Ezra, Hannah, and Nolan. Lottie was born in Durham, North Carolina and was the youngest of nine siblings. During her life she resided in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Texas. Her sharp business skills opened employment with many top corporations, Dupont, Exxon, IBM, Wachovia, and Dr Pepper, before she and her husband opened the Ambassador Jewelry and Rose Jewelry businesses in Mobile, AL. She served at Dauphin Way Baptist Church for many years and went on mission trips to Russia, Tanzania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Nicaragua, and China, representing The Jesus Film with Campus Crusade. From state governors and heads of corporations to men and women she met in the grocery checkout line, she was a friend to all she encountered. Her favorite question was always, “Do you know Jesus?” There would be hundreds, if not thousands, of testimonials from people that were touched by Lottie’s shining light and gracious life. She was the solid foundation of her family and a woman of continual prayer. This was the source of strength, healing, and faith in Christ Jesus the risen Lord. On this earth for 85 years, February 29, 1936 to June 8, 2021, Lottie Rose Howell was Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and friend to so many, and will be missed for a short time until all her family is reunited in Eternity. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 9-10 AM followed by service at 10 AM. Interment will be held in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
