August 18, 1941 - September 10, 2021
Lexie Dean Lonadier Solomon, our dear mother, our father’s true love for 64 years, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 80. She was born August 18, 1941 to Earl Edward and Stella Beatrice Lonadier in Natchitoches, LA. She married Edward Earl Solomon, Sr. on March 26th, 1957. They had nine children: James (Leigh), Edward (Sharon), Toni (Mike) Boykin, Barbara, David (Michelle), Gene (Monica), Tom (Georgeanna). She was preceded in death by two children, Douglas Keith and Tina Marie. She loved her family and sacrificed all her life to provide for us. She loved her oldies but goodies and they always put a smile on her face. Memories of Mama and Daddy dancing in the kitchen to songs on their jukebox will be forever in our minds. Along with her remaining children, she leaves behind 14 grandchildren, Jim (Christy), Lori (Paul) James, Matt (Elise), Andrew, Alex (Melody), Danielle (Prentiss) Reid, Shane (Diamond) Mills, Croff (Haley), Corey, Clayton (Victoria) Allen, Cody, Kayla, Spencer, and Wyatt; 19 great-grandchildren, Jordann and Aaron Solomon, Caleb James, Ezekiel Solomon, Colbie, Chris, Michael, Daniel, Kaylne, Shannley, Kinzley, and Eason Reid, Addylen Gillis, Dani, Leia and Rocky Allen, Colton and Kyler Solomon, and Sunnie Solomon; two great-great-grandchildren, Ava’Lyn Kittrell and Colston; two sisters-in-law, Betty (Roy) Lafon and Mary Anna (Roger) Sylvestre; other relatives and many friends. But more than anything, the love she and Daddy shared was remarkable. They met at a hay ride in Louisiana where my daddy followed her around until she (she was stubborn then too) succumbed. It was love at first sight. They raised seven children in a tiny house, but to us it was home and she worked hard to keep it that way. She kept every love letter Daddy ever wrote her while he was in the Air Force. They had a secret code in everything ever written to the other “1434444” and we still don’t know what it means, but it was theirs, and it was special. Mama was partially paralyzed on her left side most of her life, but it never kept her from taking care of her family or serving the veterans. She is whole now and dancing freely with Jesus. Even though she is gone from the physical life, we all know our Mama is our guardian angel and will be here with us forever. Pallbearers are Jim Solomon, Alex and Andrew Solomon, Clayton Allen, Cody Solomon, Spencer Solomon, Paul James, Shane Mills, and Corey and Croffard Solomon. Visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2021 from 5:00-7:00pm at Serenity Funeral Home with services being Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00am. She will be buried at Serenity Memorial Gardens in the Wall of Honor.
