"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." -2 Timothy 4:7-8 (King James Version) Pastor Lamon Forrest, born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, on April 20, 1957, peacefully transitioned from earthly to eternity the early morning hours of October 7, 2021. Pastor Forrest confessed Christ at an early age and in 1984 recommitted his fellowship with the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in his late twenties. He served faithfully at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church for 25 (active until his illness in December 2019) years as the Pastor and has always been loving and supportive to his family, church family, and dear friends, even during his illness (and through prayers and conversations, a portion of 2020). Pastor Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie, Sr. and Earnestine Cunningham Forrest; and siblings, Leslie Forrest, Jr., Verna Mae Forrest, and William Noel Forrest. Cherishing Lamon’s memories are his loving and devoted wife of almost 36 years (November 1), Carsilla B. Forrest; siblings, Kattie Cephus-Paillet, Marie (Joseph, Sr.) Tolbert, Sylvester (Irmina) Forrest, Jessie Forrest, Darnella Johnson, and Aubrey (Rose) Forrest, Betty McCovery, and Horace (Berttie) Carter; two aunts, Erma "Rose" Washington and Josephine Bolar; 3 god-children, Jakyra (Catrice) Hixon, Phelon Carter, and Brooklen Covington; god-brother, Shawn Pritchett; two god-sisters, Claudia Schoolfield and Katrina Stallworth; five devoted friends, Wilmon (Ethel) Mingo, Rudolph (Gloria) Harris, Theodore (Adeline) Biel, and Trent and Michelle Walker; hosts of devoted caregivers, chauffeurs, concrete specialist, and carpenter, Marie Tolbert, Betty Biel, Darnella Johnson, Wilmon Mingo, Joseph Tolbert, Sr., Ethel Mingo, Erin Johnson, Lakeya Coleman, Martina White, Irkis Forrest, Minister Byron "Andre" White Sr., Deacon Anthony Biel, and Blakely Covington. Pastor Forrest was grateful for being the loving and devoted uncle and cousin to Nathan, Jr. and Nataevia Orr, Byron White, Jr., DeAngela Dallas, Malachi Carter, Austyn Lacy, Jaliyah and Javarre Harris, Kennedi Forrest, and Kemari Stewart. He had a very Special Friend/adopted momma, Nellie M. Lundy. Also leaving a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special thank you to Therapist Gerry Lowe and Encompass Home Health.
