Kenneth Wayne Peterson

Kenneth "Pete" Wayne Peterson, age 87, went home to be with The Lord, on Sunday, August 8, 2021. He proudly served in the US Army, and retired from Scribner Paint Company as Superintendent, after thirty plus years. He was a faithful member and deacon of St. Elmo’s Bible Church and enjoyed being a part of missionary work. He was LOVED by all, he cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren, and was devoted to his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. He was an avid sports fan, and LOVED his hometown LSU football team-The Fighting Tigers, and The Packers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Blanche Peterson; brother, Harold Peterson; stepdaughter, Alicia Elliott; son-in-law and special friend, Jerry Mullins. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Shirley Jordan Peterson; son, Kenneth Peterson, Jr.; daughter, Madelyn Sue Nobles; step-children, Earline Mullins, Calvin (Amy) Elliott, Kimberly (Clay) Daniel, Aaron (Melissa) Elliott, and Brian Elliott; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Peterson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 1-2 PM with service to follow at 2 PM. Interment will be held in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
