Janice Bracewell Whitlock

June 28, 1936 - February 22, 2022

Janice Bracewell Whitlock of Mobile, AL was called home by the Lord Jesus Christ in the early morning of Tuesday, February 22, 2022. With her daughters by her side, she went peacefully as Heaven gained another angel. Janice was born on June 28, 1936, in Andalusia, AL and graduated from Straughn High School in 1953. She moved alone to Mobile at 17 and worked 25 years as a long-distance operator for South Central Bell. She loved the Lord, her family, her pets, Gospel music, the Atlanta Braves, and was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ Church. She was a special lady who was kind and generous, prayed for everyone, and was loved by all. She is survived by two beloved daughters, Fran Whitlock and Lynn Ladnier (Robert); two brothers, James Bracewell (Sandy) and Joseph Bracewell (Linda); five nieces and nephews, Ken Bracewell, Jeani Bourg (Ed), Meredith Rider, Walter Bracewell (Benning), and John Jensen; other relatives, and many friends and acquaintances. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orbie and Alma Bracewell. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 27, 2022 from 3-5 PM at Serenity Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 12 PM, also at Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile. Pallbearers are Walter Bracewell, Jeffrey Ladnier, Jay Ladnier, Joey Ladnier, Philip Bolton, and Patrick Bolton. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Dees and Eric Bolton.
