James Harold Sprinkle

October 5, 1956 - June 14, 2022

James H. “Jimmy” Sprinkle, age 65, a life long resident of Dauphin Island, passed away at Palm Garden Nursing Home on June 14, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dora Mallon Sprinkle and Leonard Harold Sprinkle; and one brother, John Mallon. Jimmy was a very simple man that everyone knew and loved. He either walked or rode his bike wherever he needed to go. His days were spent fishing, greeting friends at the stores, or sitting on a bench somewhere on the island. He was known as “The Walking Man” to some and the “Gentle Giant" to others, but for sure a Dauphin Island icon. Jimmy is survived by two brothers, Joseph “Darrell” (Georgia) Mallon and Charles Sprinkle; one niece, Pamela Mallon (Chad) Pierce; two nephews, Jody Mallon and Andy Mallon; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; three great-great-nieces; four great-great-nephews; special friend, Christa Scarcliff Jones; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at St. Edmunds by the Sea Catholic Church on Dauphin Island, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 10 am.
