He was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed watching them play. He was a history buff who loved researching it. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Blackmon Smith (Ray); brother, Gary Blackmon; sister, Susan Conners; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
