Cheryl Renee Messer Barrett, our angel, went to be with our Lord and Savior to her eternal resting place on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Cheryl was born January 4, 1964 and was 58 years old. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis E. Messer; grandparents, L.H. & Frances Messer and John Edmunds & Eunice M. Edmunds; and niece and nephew, Chelsie and Darin Lisenba. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Joey Barett Sr.; mother, Naomi Posey, son, Joey Barrett Jr. (Nikki); daughter, Trudi Barrett Isham (Jerry); grandchildren, Aubrey Lunsford, Joey Barrett III, Barrett Jordan, Jase Barrett, Marilyn Isham, Ceara Weaver, Zachary Weaver (Brandy), Rowan Broussard, Kendall Weaver, Kinleigh Caballero, and Cameron Caballero; sisters, Mollie Barrett (Paul), Terri Benintende and her children, Teria Solomon (Chris), CJ Benintende, Jacob Benintende, and Christina Johnson (Sam); sister, Brenda Lisenba and her daughter, Jaimie Lisenba; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a multitude of friends. Sissy was passionate in the love she shared for her family. She always made sure that everyone around her felt loved and knew she was a solid support for them. She was strong, trustworthy, and a perfect picture of what a wife, mother, and friend should be. She will forever be missed by her family and all that was lucky to have known the extraordinary woman that she was. A visitation for Cheryl will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, 8691 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, Alabama 36582, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Cheryl will be laid to rest in Serenity Memorial Gardens, 8951 Old Pascagoula Rd, Theodore, AL 36582.
