Billie Rae Ingram Robertson, a resident of Bayou La Batre, AL, passed away at her home on February 1, 2022, at the age of 72. She was the second child born to William “Bill” Lacy Ingram and Lula May Cheek on August 8,1949 in Campbellsville, KY. Her family relocated from Pensacola, FL to Bayou La Batre in 1965, where she attended Peter F. Alba High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1967. Billie Rae later married her high school sweetheart, Harry Douglas “Doug” Robertson in May of 1972. They lived and raised their two daughters, Lacy Shrae and Mary Amberly, in Bayou La Batre. She spent her working years at Dixon Elementary School and retired in 2004. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and antiquing, but most of all, she loved being a doting Granny to her three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill; mother, Lula; and sister, Mary Margaret “Margie” Foots. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Doug Robertson; two daughters, Lacy Harrison (Charles “Chad” Henry) of Mobile, AL and Amberly Davidson (David Lynn) of Tuscaloosa, AL; three grandchildren, Abigail “Abby” Katherine Harrison, David Jacob “Jake” Davidson, and Garrett Russell Davidson; other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 1-2 PM at Oddfellows Cemetery near Bayou La Batre, followed by a graveside service at 2 PM, where she will be laid to rest.
