Barbara Louise Jordan
July 14, 1936 - February 2, 2022
Barbara Louise Moore Jordan, age 85, passed away peacefully at her Mobile, Alabama home on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Barbara was born in Grand Bay, Alabama in 1936, the eldest of 6 children. She spent her childhood in Grand Bay and was valedictorian of her high school. She went on to have a career as a secretary for the FBI and General Electric. Her greatest love in life was her family. She was a giver, always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved classical music, opera, and music from the big band era. She saw beauty in many things, but especially loved the flowers and trees in the southern landscape and was an avid bird watcher. She loved spending time at the Dauphin Island Bird Sanctuary and walking the beaches while her husband played golf. She was known for her cooking, always remembering everyone’s favorite dish. Barbara was beautiful in body and spirit, a true angel on earth, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two children, Garrett Wayne Jordan (Robin) and Tamara Jordan Lindsay; grandchildren, Alexandra Lindsay Primrose (Michael) and Jordan Mitchell Lindsay, great-grandchild, Rowan Eiji Primrose; sister, Kathy Foster; brother, Bruce Wayne Moore; other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Merwe Jordan; parents, Thelma Dees Moore and Ronald Garrett Moore; sisters, Beverly Tharpe and Ronnie Jean Moore; and brother, Ronald Belmont Moore. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
