For over thirty years, Serenity Memorial Gardens and Lawn Haven have provided burial space at no cost to veterans and reasonably priced spaces for their families. Thousands of veterans and their families have taken advantage of this program. There are now four separate gardens to accommodate veterans.

The original Garden of Victory in both cemeteries, or Phase I, was opened in the late sixties and over a twenty-year period gained a reputation as being one of the finest gardens in the region. Due to the success and acceptance of the gardens, Phase II was started in 1988 and is now at approximately 50% of capacity. Phase II actually consists of two areas, the Wall of Honor and the Garden of Honor. The Wall of Honor is a special walled-off area, with an arched entrance, offering traditional side-by-side burial and double-depth, military style burial. The Garden of Honor, separated by the Avenue of Flags, offers side-by-side burial for the veteran, spouse, and immediate family members, while the Wall of Honor is restricted to veterans and spouse only.
