Serenity Memorial Gardens and Land Lawn Haven opened in December 1966 and is located off Old Pascagoula Road in Theodore, AL. We have twelve gardens along with our mausoleum and Veteran's Wall of Honor.

The Serenity Group is proud to be a perpetual care cemetery. The cemetery authority shall at all times maintain the cemetery in good condition by grading, landscaping, maintaining adequate shrubbery, and trimming said shrubbery. The cemetery authority will also be responsible for planting and cutting grass, removing debris, and maintaining the features so the cemetery is uniform and beautiful at all times. No other person, firm, or corporation shall have the right to do any landscaping, cutting, or planting of any kind.

The Serenity Group shall also maintain all roads and paths in good condition.

In order to be interred at Serenity Memorial Gardens, we require the following:

  • A certificate of ownership must be presented at the time of need.

  • Twenty-four hour notice must be given to the cemetery prior to any interrment.

  • An outer burial container (a vault or grave liner) must be used. This may be purchased by us or an outside company as long as it conforms to our policy.

  • Only human remains may be interred.

All memorial markers shall be uniform throughout the cemetery and shall be of the size, depth, and proportion determined by the cemetery authority. We require bronze on granite markers. Only individual or companion markers are permitted and only one marker shall be allowed to each grave. Headstones and footstones standing on end above the surface of the ground are prohibited. All markers shall be placed by the cemetery authority and under the cemetery authority's supervision. All markers must be at the level of the ground and the cemetery authority must approve all markers.

Veteran bronze markers are accepted providing a base is purchased and care funds are paid to the cemetery as other markers and said charges must be paid before the markers are ordered and installed. Once the marker has been ordered, it usually takes between ten to twelve weeks to arrive.

We encourage all visitors to our cemetery. When you come out, we ask you to please follow these guidelines:

  • The Cemeteries are open daily from dawn to dusk.

  • When visiting, please be respectful of others who are visiting their loved ones. We ask that you not make loud noise or use inappropriate language.

  • We try to keep our grounds clean and beautiful at all times. Please refrain from littering. There are trash containers located throughout the cemetery.

  • The speed limit throughout the cemetery is fifteen miles per hour.
Children shall not be permitted unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • No firearms shall be permitted on any portion of the cemetery.

  • No bicycles or motorcycles shall be admitted to the cemetery at any time.

  • No signs, notices, or advertisements shall be allowed in the cemetery unless placed by the cemetery authority.

  • No animals shall be allowed in the cemetery.

  • No one shall be allowed on the cemetery grounds in an intoxicated condition nor shall the cemetery authority tolerate any improprieties, whether these rules and regulations cover them or not. The cemetery authority shall decide said improprieties.

  • With regards to flowers and grave decorations, we ask you follow these guidelines:

    • Only real or artificial flowers are allowed.

    • The flowers must be secured in a vase. If they are not, the cemetery authority will remove them.

    • All flowers deemed to be weathered or faded will be removed by the cemetery authority.

    • With the exception of a current interrment, no baskets, glass, crockery, wire or metal or any other kind of receptacle for flowers will be allowed on any grave except in the vase located in the marker at the head of the grave. Appropriate grave decorations will be allowed seven days prior to and seven days after these holidays: Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. All containers must be removed by the fourteenth day.

The Serenity Group will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any property or rights of owners to interrment rights arising from damage caused by the elements, acts of God, common enemy, thieves, vandals, etc. and whether said damage is direct, indirect, or collateral.
