Mr. Donald G. Parmer, the late founder of
Serenity and the Gardens Funeral Home, envisioned a facility to
accommodate the families he had been serving since 1966. In 1986,
Mr. Parmer brought that vision into reality with the opening of
Serenity Funeral Home. With the opening of the funeral home, Serenity
became a full service facility and services all cemeteries. The
veteran employees were encouraged to obtain their funeral directors
license which most now have. In addition, additional funeral directors
and embalmers were hired.
Serenity Funeral Home is situated amongst a grove of Senator Pecan Trees in West Mobile County on Historic Old Pascagoula Road. As you approach our location from the east,
a short rise from McDonald Road brings Serenity Funeral Home into view. Next to the funeral home, an open air classic country gazebo offers an inviting and tranquil setting as it overlooks the almost one acre pond that is reminiscent of the south's bayou country with its cypress trees and hanging moss.
The 22,000 square foot, elegantly appointed funeral home offers our client families an expanse of room as well as Alabama's largest funeral home chapel facility in which 350 plus persons are seated comfortably. From the charming and tasteful decor of the foyer, halls, offices, and parlors, to the 32 unit display and selection room, Serenity Funeral Home offers an atmosphere of warm Southern hospitality with grace and dignity.
